Nutrition can play an important role in managing stress. Eating a healthy, balanced diet can provide your body with the nutrients it needs to cope with stress and maintain optimal health. Here are some specific benefits of nutrition to stress:

  1. Regulates cortisol levels: Cortisol is a hormone that is released in response to stress. High cortisol levels co-responsible for a slow metabolism which leads to wait gain and further hormonal imbalances. A balanced diet can help regulate cortisol levels and reduce stress.

  2. Boosts mood: Eating a balanced diet rich in nutrients such as omega-3 fatty acids, B vitamins, and magnesium can help boost mood and reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety. Food like flax seeds, salmon, tuna (omega-3), Brussel sprouts, broccoli, green leafy veggies (B vitamins) and pumpkin seeds, almonds, spinach (magnesium) are very valuable and shout be eaten daily.

  3. Reduces inflammation: Stress can cause inflammation in the body, which can contribute to a variety of health problems. A diet that is high in anti-inflammatory foods such as fruits, vegetables, nuts, and fatty fish can help reduce inflammation and protect against disease.

What I consider of an extra benefit is to stick mostly with the fruits and veggies which are grown and ripe regionally. And as you might know, I am a big fan of warm and cooked food.
